Almost Taking a Midnight Dip

Packing for the USA!

Here’s a silly and random video we made a few hours ago…

Deep Dive Video

Here, you can see me talking a bit more about the bag, the inspiration, and even more! Thanks again to our amazing partners at Peak Design! 🙂 Check the Kickstarter page here.

Dubai Nightwalking

If you do ever make it to one of these very hot places like Dubai or Vegas, I recommend sleeping a lot during the day and staying up a lot at night to take photos. Not only is it cooler, but often everything looks more awesome and the photography comes even easier.

Daily Photo – Almost Taking a Midnight Dip

The water here is not that deep, but it’s very wet, as you’d expect water to be. Sometimes when taking photos I lose track of my surroundings… I almost fell in not once but twice! I had my friend Rene with me and he would have died laughing I’m sure… sometimes I wish I would have just so I could have seen his reaction! 🙂

From the Autumn Photo Adventure

I took this photo with our group during the amazing photo adventure a few months ago. Be sure to check out our Photo Adventures page to see if there is anything coming up! :

Daily Photo – Walking Near The Barn at Lake Hayes

This is the little path that runs in front of my friend’s little cottage you can rent along Lake Hayes. It’s about 10 minutes from my house and really awesome… be sure to look up “The Barn at Lake Hayes” and tell them Trey sent ya!

Daily Photo – The View From the Top of the Bar

This is the bar atop the Burj Al Arab, which styles itself as the world’s only 7-star hotel. This bar itself is really cool because it juts way out of the hotel and looks like it would be almost impossible, defying physics. When I got inside, I was really shocked at the outrageous and eye-jamming decor! The drink menu was also like 30 pages and totally outrageous… they even had a drink called “The Burning Man,” which of course I had to get!

Walking Around the Glacier

Interview with Scoble

See more about the bag on Kickstarter! This was a quick flash interview I did with Robert Scoble in San Francisco… very fun. Be sure to follow Robert over on Facebook too! 🙂

We’re editing together video now

Stu and I got a ton of footage down south here… the team is editing it together right now! :

Daily Photo – Walking Around the Glacier

On another daily hike to the glacier, I came around the bend to see this. Besides the massive nature of the ice wall, I think one of my favorite parts might be those soft-looking giant marshmallows of snow along the bottom. Each one of those is quite massive on its own, often towering over me.

Rainy Colors in Dubai

Thanks again for the Dubai Photowalk

It was great meeting everyone out there… and I’m very excited about our upcoming 13 photowalks in the USA! Be sure to check 80stays.treyratcliff.com to find out more!

Daily Photo – Rainy Colors in Dubai

As far as I can tell, it doesn’t rain much here in the city. Rene and I happened to be still out after the photowalk when the rain started to fall. We got pretty excited and started taking photos like cray cray. This is a really cool area of town that goes right along the beach. Over to the right is just a 30 second walk out to the ocean.

The Beginning of Lord of The Rings

Set Design

I don’t know how these guys come up with the idea and the know-how to actually build this stuff. It’s very impressive! You can see a little bit of that know-how at work in this video, especially with all the gardeners and everyone working to make things look perfect!

Daily Photo – The Beginning of Lord of The Rings

Remember this little road from the beginning of the first LOTR when Gandalf was on the cart along with Frodo? What a great scene… it brought back all the memories while walking around here. I can’t believe these places are real!

Alone in China

The Last Teaser Video

No need for more teaser videos… since the Kickstarter is less than 48 hours away! Check out https://stuckincustoms.com/links/kickstarter

The Chinese Visa System

You have no idea how much trouble I’ve had getting visas into China. Visas are such an antiquated system, and I can’t believe they still exist in today’s world. I know they are ways to get extra money and keep track of you, but there are much more efficient means for doing this nowada

Daily Photo – Alone in China

This is absolutely one of my favorite photos from the past year, but I don’t think anyone else likes it as much as I do.

There are a bunch of great sponsors and prizes you’ll want to check out over on the Photo Walk Tour page!

Chromecast

I was wandering around here taking photos and a couple was also there. Turns out they were about to be married inside of here and they were checking it out. They asked my name, and I said, “Trey Ratcliff.” They said, “WAIT THE TREY FROM CHROMECAST!” haha I was laughing… “Yes, I suppose,” I sai

Daily Photo – Visiting the Abandoned Mill in the Snow

This last autumn here in Queenstown, we got quite a few surprise snowfalls. They change everything, and I try to do everything I can to get out and shoot. This place is very close to my home, so I try to get here on occasion.

Coming Over the Hill to Find Relief in the Sahara Desert

And here are the new city Photo Walk Rankings! Don’t miss the Photo Walk Tour Website for the latest.

#1 San Francisco
#2 New York (was in 3rd place!)
#3 Washington DC (slipped a notch)
#4 LA (BUT ONLY BY 1 person ahead of Chicago)
#5 Chicago (was #6, just passed the strong Philly group!)
#6 Philly (and I just watched a Sunny last night, and you slipped!)
#7 Miami (these numbers will go up when we find the party spot!)
#8 Dallas (my home town…)
#9 Atlanta
#10 Phoenix
#11 Nashville
#12 San Antonio

Those ranks are based on the number of people that have signed up for the FB events. From past experience, about 4x that many people actually show up… so it’s gonna be a great party!

We’re about to update all the city pages to point to Google Communities for photos to be shared for each city. Stay tuned for that.

Daily Photo – Coming Over the Hill to Find Relief in the Sahara Desert

I can easily see how people can die in the desert. From movies and things, you kind of get the sense that you might be able to cross 50 or so sand dunes per day. But I think you’d be lucky to cross 5. And you can’t ever see anything coming… just and endless sea of sand. I came over the crest of this hill (luckily I was on a camel) and saw the edge of this welcoming-looking tent!
