Next up in my camera reminiscing, the totally awesome D800. This is probably just about where DSLRs hit their peak in my opinion and just before the Sony would shake things up. Also, this is a rare shot of Cleveland for me. I think I’ve only ever published 2! I should go back and grab some more sometime. (This one was taken on a D800 i had borrowed to try, before buying.)

Thread’s no.1 post for 2023!
Here’s my most viewed image on Flickr from those posted in 2023. I don’t remember the original post of this image doing anything out of the ordinary but on the re-share, which I think I did because I was working on a project that used this image at the time, it took off.
Continuing the roundup of top posts across my social media, here’s the top of the pile from Facebook and that platform delivers something more along the lines of what I expected, a shot from Scotland. It’s not one of my top 5 that I most like, but hey, that’s ok. I guess people really like fairytale like castles from the far northeast coast. 🙂
How odd…
So yesterday we hit no.1 on the chart for my top performing posts on Instagram. Today, it’s a look at what was no.1 on Pinterest. That’s right, straight to the top and it’s such a bizarre result. I’ve never liked this image, I said so at the time, and I guess looking at it now I’ve kind of softened on it but this was posted in 2010 and now, 13 years later it has resurfaced, on Pinterest, getting double the views of the image in second place. Just odd.
I thought it’d be fun to go through what turned out to be my top content on social media for the year and that continues today. Mainly I’ll focus on Instagram but I’ll drop in a few others towards the end as when they get traction (e.g. Flickr) the stats go crazy. So, here’s number 1 in my most viewed posts of 2023… does that make them the BEST? Not so sure, but for whatever reason they connected with people, or the algorithm!
So, this is it… the second shuttle image in my top 10 posts from Instagram this year. As rated by their analytics. People love the shuttle… or maybe people love space. Probably both. I can’t remember what prompted the re-share and I was sure an image from Scotland would make the top spot as there were a bunch of those which are definitely in my favorite images I’ve ever taken but there you go!
