I love the cool, blues and greens of Tokyo at night. They look great alone, but things really pop when mixed with the orange of the Tokyo Tower.
Man, it’s been so long since I was outside NZ it almost feels like the rest of the world may no longer exist. Not sure when I’ll be able to do a trip like the Camino in Spain again, it’s certainly a complex undertaking at the best of times! One thing I didn’t expect on that trip when preparing was such extreme mist in the mornings… I’d imagined quite dry conditions overall but that definitely wasn’t the case.
Still the height of summer here in NZ, so what better reason to look back to a nice cool winter shot…
When I was in Egypt with the family, and not getting into trouble for flying the quadcopter, we got a great tour around the Sphinx by one of their top experts. The challenge was then to do something a bit different from the average photo of such a well know creation…
It’s starting to look a bit more promising on the border/travel front in NZ and one of the first places I’m heading when things do open, other than to see the family, is Tokyo. Here’s a 360 shot from a previous trip… man, it’s been ages since I had that 360 camera out. I should really see what the new models offer before my next visit!
It’s been a really great summer here in NZ, minimal rain and I’ve been able to fit in some fun road trips in the sun. It won’t be long before we start hitting my favorite part of the year though, Autumn… or fall for some of you. Here’s a shot from a few years ago on one of my random walks just as the trees were changing.
This has to be an epic way to explore the Fiordland National Park, doesn’t it? This is down in Doubtful Sound, just around the corner from Milford Sound. You must end each day of canoeing both knackered and exhilarated!
I saw on the news earlier that there is a mission heading out to try and locate the shipwreck of Endurance near Antarctica. I can’t wait to see if they are successful and what sort of condition they find it in. In theory it will be pretty good condition considering it’s been down there for 100 years. Lack of life/bacteria due to the extreme conditions, etc. Here’s the inside of one of the huts used by explorers in Antarctica back then…
Here’s an image I grabbed while out playing with the Hasselblad H5D. I was curious about what that big sensor would do with some low light shots and HDR… turned out well. 🙂
I think photographers often spend time setting up shots to be as symmetrical as possible… i certainly do. Then you get back and notice that some administrator has put a big sign in the area… hey, administrators, can you not just add a second? If the architect a few hundred years ago can do all the hard work, you can order a 2nd sign! 😉
