Trump 2020?

Here are 10 photos +1 bonus at the rallies near the Trump event in Orlando, Florida the other day. Hey, I live in New Zealand, so I don’t have a dog in the hunt. All the streets were shut down, so I decided to visit both rallies; there are five photos from each rally… Pro and Anti. I’ll alternate the photos Anti/Pro. And the bonus photo is of the awesome police in the rain, standing ready to deal with Florida Man. I don’t know if you know about Florida Man, but if you do, you do.

Anti-Trump #1 – A giant inflatable baby Trump. I don’t know if it was the same one from London or a replicate.

Pro-Trump #1: This keeps your car cool when the sun is out. This child with an NRA shirt said one guy offered him $200 for it. He said no, but if I gave him $300, we had a deal!

Anti-Trump #2: This guy was dancing while the Mariachi band from Mexico was playing a tune.

Pro-Trump #2: That guy has two thumbs.

Anti-Trump #3: She jumped the wall, I suppose!

Pro-Trump #3: I asked this kid on my Insta story was his real hair and he said, “I wish!”

Anti-Trump #4 Some fun bedtime stories for the kids…

Pro-Trump #4: The line to get into the arena was several miles long… people traveled from all over to get here.

Anti-Trump #5: Meanwhile, at the other rally.

Pro-Trump #5: Yes, there was a scattering of LGBTTQQIAAP peeps in line to get into the arena to cheer for Trump.

Before I went on that 200km hike in Spain, I figured I had better get in hiking shape! So I set out to do a week’s worth of 10-20km hikes. One day, I decided to walk from Kelvin Heights over to Jack’s Point near Queenstown, New Zealand. This one turned out to be a rather long hike… and this was the view on the way back to my truck. You can see Blueberry up there, just ahead, turning the corner… she might love the hikes even more than me!

I was glad I chose to spend several nights in this mountain town and jump around to a few different ryokans to stay in. All of them were very similar in that I had a very tiny little room. That’s okay. I don’t need much. But there was barely room for my bags and my body. I slept on the ground, on a futon, that was prepared for me while I was having dinner. It was so cozy to get back into my little room when it was freezing outside and curl up inside my cocoon.

I took to many midnight walks around the Pudong area of Shanghai. It’s very beautiful and great to photograph, but it feels a bit organically dead. There are no restaurants or bars that are open late. There is no activity. This is purely a business district and everyone leaves after the work is done… it’s almost like a ghost-town… or an apocalyptic scene where no humans remain.

Two Photos from Jack’s Point

Here are two photos from pretty much the exact same spot. I did two wildy different edits on them. I’m 100% sure I like the first one in the sequence better. It’s a good reminder of how much variance there can be in post-processing sessions.

Jack’s Point in Queenstown I went out with Eden Brackstone the other night to take some photos. After he decided to wade callously into this crystal clear water and ruin the placid reflection, I had about five minutes to contemplate life while the ripples settled down. And then I took this one!Man, I do love this Sony NEX-7. Failed Supermoon Shot at Jack’s Point I made a big mistake when I decided to come here to get a photo of the super moon about a week ago! I had it all planned out, but then nothing went as planned. My Big Awesome Plan was to take a photo of the super moon and the mountains and get a reflection off the lake. Well, I was so close to the Remarkables here that the moon took about four hours after moonrise to get over them! It was pitch black by then… oh well. But, while waiting, the water calmed down nicely and I took this photo. This is an area called “Jack’s Point” — sort of a private home community and golf course. I was allowed to stay at this beautiful mosque after closing. This is one of the security guys that was helping to show me around. He was incredibly cool and nice. At the end, we got along so well, that we became Instagram buddies and remain so until this day! 🙂
