I could never quite get the angle I wanted from a ground-based photo so I got the Phantom up in the air to get this shot. I think the perspective is much more interesting!

Daily Photo – Preparing for a Night Ski
This is the surreal scene I see in my back yard in the summer. We back onto Coronet Peak here in the southern alps. Every winter for a few nights a week they turn on all the lights for night skiing. It’s such a strange sight at night to peer out the window and see an entire mountain lit up… it reminds me of jewels sparkling on the bottom of the ocean.
