Daily Photo – Approaching another Glacier in Antarctica

It’s hard to get a sense of scale here, but let me just tell you that it is huge. It’s the kind of huge that makes me feel as insignificant as I know I am in my heart of hearts! The whiteness and towering nature of it all just makes me dizzy, even thinking back on being there. Each of those ice-boulders you see is way too big to climb over and the effort of walking up to touch the face of the glacier is an excursion in itself. Thank god it didn’t crack apart and fall on me when I was there. I’m not so sure I could have escaped it. In fact, I’m pretty sure I couldn’t!
