Flying over the Lindis Pass – Stuck in Customs

Flying over the Lindis Pass

Getting a little higher

I know that title sounds like a little recreational drug use, and maybe it does, but really it’s talking about this quadcopter shot! I got this one with the DJI Inspire, and I pretty much went straight up, maybe about 100 meters or so. But I find the perspective to be maybe just a bit more interesting than the ground-based shot.

Daily Photo – Flying over the Lindis Pass

This is the place most people cross the Southern Alps when getting from one side of the South Island of New Zealand to the other. It’s fairly mountainous, but not as rocky and impenetrable as the rest. But in this strange transition zone, all the landscape scenes are just strange and different. I think it is because of the strange weather and erosion patterns… never seen a situation quite like this anywhere else in the world.
