Kayaking to the Deserted Island

Repeats of the Videos

Here’s two of the videos I made on Bora Bora – the main video then the Behind-the-Scenes! I have these on these also on the DJI Phantom Review page!

Flying the Quadcopter – behind the scenes

Sorry it starts out with some stuff about my Sony A7r, so you can just skip that bit if you wish! :)

Daily Photo – Kayaking to the Deserted Island

Here's a photo I took from the back of the kayak where my daughter was rowing in the front. She's only 8, but I was making her do all the work while I took this photo haha! We rowed over to that little island with the palm tree. After we got there, you can see some of the footage I got with the drone while there!

Given your experience with the a7r, have you ever commented anywhere on this site about the proposed shutter shock/vibrations a lot of other users/reviewers have mentioned about the camera (just google ‘a7r shutter’ and every hit has commentary on the subject)? Supposedly it makes the 70-200mm FE lens near impossible to use (even with the OSS activated) if one doesnt shoot a fast shutter speeds.

Are these reviewers (i) the kind of people that are never pleased and find fault with any camera-lens combo or (ii) are these legit concerns that either Sony needs to address with a potential firmware update or an issue that’s worth considering if one was to decide between the a7r and the other mirrorless cameras (a7 or a7s) given the different shutter closing mechanisms? Thanks in advance for your insight.

I’ve seen grumblings about this, but I haven’t experienced any of it myself. And I have 2 Sony A7rs. I find my photos to be supa-sharp… even using the 70-300mm Sony Alpha lens.
