Moving to New Zealand

Why Did I Move to New Zealand?

There’s a long story to it all… but I think you can see a lot of the reasons in the video below.

By the way, if you are looking to buy a house here and need a recommendation, contact me via support@stuckincustoms.com and the team will get you to me. I can make an excellent recommendation for you!

This video was made with Animoto!

I used a cool online thing called Animoto to make this video. I also wrote up a full Animoto Review here on the site.

You can also use the Animoto Coupon Code of “STUCKINCUSTOMS” to get 2 months free with a pro account… thanks for the team there for providing that for us!

New Video – Turning to Peace in New Zealand

Hey Trey. I know this is probably the wrong place to ask but I couldn’t think of anywhere else. I was looking at getting the HDR tutorial – and the single best thing that I thought were the Clubhouse forums. So I was wondering whether now that the website/Google+ is so big if you still frequented those….

Trey, I know it is hard to get residency in New Zealand, are you able to share whether your photography had anything to do with it?

  • Fred

Trey, Beautiful images. My personal opinion would be to see maybe 2 to 3 seconds longer in the slide show for each image. I felt frustrated that I couldn’t take in the beauty of each image before it moved on to the next one.

Trey Ratcliff: You’ve outdone yourself ! Beautiful HDR photos Russ Considine

    Hi Trey.

Beautiful video. With the by-line and the current situation in the US, I thought it was going to be a political comment. (ha ha-such a frenzy this time of year…) Would sure love to “join the club” and move somewhere else, but can’t leave the ‘States yet for other reasons. You sure have found a wonderful home with plenty of photographic opportunities out there to explore. I admire your modern day explorer focus! Looking forward to many, many more photos from your new location and home!

Trey, I appreciate the colors and charm that is New Zealand. I would like to know the music selection you used for the video. Thanks!

  • Dave Morgan

Fabulous video/slide show of NZ. Kind of curious how using others music might parlay into copyright infringemnet. I’ve done videos on YouTube of singing other peoples music and eventually got the audio knocked off my videos and a warning they would kick me off youtube. Was up to 200,000 hits when I got knocked off. Aj Deep got knocked off. His main video got 7 million hits when they shut him down. Some still remain on youtube. Worth checking out though, absolutely gorgeous stuff in Mexico… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISxiDI4G744&feature=plcp

I don’t get it. Are you telling us that you moved to NZ because it has pretty scenery? Is that it? Of course it’s true. NZ is pretty. But so are lots of other places, including the USA.
Actually NZ is not hard to get residency. If you qualify you can get in. And there’s no restrictions on buying residential property, unlike a lot of countries.

Now as an Australian, saying this almost hurts but……. after watching yet another gem video Trey, it makes me want to move from Perth to NZ!

That’s not true – there are restrictions for foreign ownership of residential property here in NZ.

Wow….what combination of incredible music and amazing images. Brought tears to my eyes.

I remember NZ was a beautiful place when I visited many years ago, and you superb photos and video make it look even better! I’m curious about how you were able to more there, since I thought their residency and visa requirements for foreigners were rather demanding. True? Tx !

As a US resident living in the Northeast (definitely a photoworthy portion of the country) I can say just from seeing Trey’s shots – the potential shots for a photographer like Trey, when you look at it from a per-square-mile perspective, is better by an order of magnitude in NZ!

  • Scotty Graham

yep…I won’t ask why you moved to NZ…the video says it all…
