Daily Photo – Sailing Away to Akaroa

Thanks again for all the recommendations!  So many of you recommended that we visit Akaroa on our visit to New Zealand, and it was a great suggestion.

You can walk along and see most of the commercial part and the harbor in less than an hour.  One end is a long dock where they launch a few ships per day.  Just as I got out to the end, this sailboat was pulling away from the dock.

This photo came from a single RAW file.  There was way too much movement to let me do a multiple exposure in this one.

Fantastic picture Trey! I especially love the ‘greeness’ of the water . Do you ever use the automatic de-ghosting tool in photomatix? I find that if your trigger finger is quick on the shutter button, then it is amazingly good now at getting rid of any ghosts including moving vehicles.

Just thought I would post a link, I’ve written a blog today which sums up my thoughts on the Pinterest debate that was on you website the other day. It includes an analogy with a struggling band, which I think you might enjoy Trey:

Great photo, looks like a nice area and I envy the people on that boat.  It’s interesting how the photo came out with so much color on the left side and so little on the right.

It’s Heart Breaking to have 8,000 dollars D3X and a few years after, the 36MP is only 3,000 dollars, but hey, it’s still a good sign.

Oh, man… this shot is gorgeous! It’s really hard to look at it, sitting in the office…
