Eyes and No Eyes

Patrick Rothfuss, Charity, The Show

So, regular friends around here will know that my inspiration comes from the world outside of photography.  I read like a madman.  And look, I’m not bragging when I say I’m very well-read in Fantasy.  That’s just a fact.  And so, maybe it carries a lot of weight when I say that Patrick Rothfuss is teaching us all.

Now, before I tell you more about that bit, first let me point you to Pat’s charity team at Worldbuilders.  I’ve donated, and you might like to also.  There are all kinds of rare signed books that will be given away as part of the fund-raising effort.

And…. Patrick will be joining me for Trey’s Variety Hour #22 on Monday night.  How cool is that?

What Do You See?

And… which eyes are mine?  Yes, I’ll be back at EG in Monterey this year…

Daily Photo – The Mysterious Creatures Among Us

While in the southern town of Lixiang, I came upon this creature in the evening.  Maybe you know the legend of this…  maybe it is better to make up your own legend than to have me tell you everything about it… or, perhaps one of you intrepid explorers in the community can tell us all what is going on here!

This is Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. He’s part of an epic Chinese tale.

I’ll be honest I do not know but we are making preparations as to how many want to go so we can book to go to Yunnan Provence come october. Your pictures are always inspiring as to what we can see next, or dream of . He does not really look like a monkey looking at his nose, looks more from this angle like an American Marine or seaman please don’t misunderstand, I’m not being insulting.Have a good weekend all.

Interesting video, Trey.  Nice photo, also.  Have a great Saturday.  Good luck on your move to New Zealand.  We might go to Europe next year, my hubby is busy on the net checking out trips.  He’s very excited, as he’s wanted to take me to Europe for a long time.  He’s been over there many times with the Air force.  And we are taking a cruise to Alaska this fall.  Well, way to much info about me.  Have a great weekend!!

The photo sure looks like Son Goku, the Monkey King, from the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West.
