Daily Photo – The Canals of Lijiang at Night

There must be a hundred little canals spread here and there through the old town. There are so many opportunities for photos! This is what we call a target-rich environment.

This is the town I was in with Tom Anderson — every night we explored a new area. It was an amazing time… I can’t wait to go back some day!

    These kind of night scenes are perfect for HDR, but it takes an artist to get a print like this. Fantastic! Colors, textures, composition – all perfect. Great shot Trey. You keep me up to midnight every night so I can get a glimpse of your artistry. I wonder why that child is sitting on the wall over the canal. I hope he doesn’t fall in.

    Unbelievable shot! My god this is amazing! When I first saw this, I thought Venice but now looking and reading a bit more about it, it’s like Venice in China! So many great features to talk about here, my favourite being that little glow of green light behind the bridge. Simply stunning.

    I’m so sorry Trey. The photo pixels aren’t loading right. Only the top inch or so are clear. I tried clicking on the photo, and it wouldn’t bring up the picture on a separate page. I’m sure I would like it if it was clear :-( Thanks for sharing, anyway. Have a wonderful Sunday. :-)

    Oh wow…I didn’t see the kid at first, until I read the comments ( I was fixated on the reflection).
    I really liked the shot to begin with, but the child really makes it so intriguing!
