Lyon is one of those wonderful European cities where things look romantic and timeless from either side of the river that inevitably flows down the center.
Here is a view from one side looking across and up the hill to where the Notre Dame de Lyon resides. I’m glad they take the trouble to light it up… it gives the city a lot of character at night I think!

If you ever have a chance, you should go there on the 8th of December, every year. It’s the festival of lights and the whole city is painted with wonderful colors.
(PS: The place is actually Notre Dame de Fourviere)

Beautiful photo, Trey. As always, the reflections of the lights in the water really bring out the beauty of the lights!!! Great job!

Trey, Good reflections. I seem to see a bit of noise though in the blue shade. Nevertheless, Notre Dame looks beautiful through your eyes.

I’ve been here. Thanks for the memories! Lyon is an amazing city that often gets overlooked. Did you visit the ruins?

Hi Trey, and all you HDR fans,
Here’s a link for the Lyon light festival which takes place in December, as an english graphic designer living in france, i’m only 3 hours drive, and will be attending this year, this will be my first visit to see the light show, although i’ve visited Lyon many times on business.
This is going to be HDR nirvana, if you can get above the crowds.
Anyway have a look at the video, and site, maybe their’s some inspiration for some of you in the film, for getting out after dark to take some great HDR’s
